AN OUTDOOR concert by Harborough Band brought the curtain down on another fabulous carnival weekend.
The town’s brass band, formed in 1897, performed at the bandstand in the town’s Welland Park to a crowd of at least 300 people, some of whom enjoyed picnics in the sunny weather.
President of the band Mark Stamp said: “It was an unbelievable day.
“The weather brought everybody out and we think it might have been the largest crowd we’ve had for years.
“It was a great end to another brilliant carnival weekend and credit must go out to John Bush and the rest of the carnival committee as well as people of the town for supporting the event.”
The concert has been held as the final event of the carnival weekend at its 3pm time slot for about 11 years.
l Harborough Training Band, the band’s junior section, is performing at the St Hugh’s and St Nicholas combined church fete this Saturday on The Green in Little Bowden from 2pm.
